Director Arthur Penn dies at 88

The director was sick for almost a year.

Arthur Penn, director of films like Bonnie and Clyde died on Tuesday evening, a day after completing 88 years, reported today by The New York Times.

Evan Bell, a personal friend of the director for 25 years, said the director was sick for almost a year, but gave no details about the death. Penn was three times nominated for an oscar for best director for The Miracle Worker (Anne Sullivan) and  Bonnie and Clyde .
