The audience of the Oscar ceremony in 2013 was the best of the awards since 2007, according to the website of the magazine “Rolling Stone” on Monday (25).
Presented by Seth MacFarlane, director and creator of the series “Family Guy,” the event assured the official broadcaster ABC an index of 26.6 points, with 41% market share among the attractions displayed during Sunday night. The percentage represents an increase of 4 points compared to that achieved in 2012.
Among people 18 to 49 years, ahead of last year was even higher: 19% more, with an index of 12.1 points.
One reason for the success appointed by the publication, is the fact that six of the nine competitors for best picture have raised more than $ 100 million at the box office. Last year, the long-winner, “The Artist” earned only $ 45 million in the local market.
The first edition with a theme (“musical movies”) and the presentation of unpublished Seth MacFarlane were also cited as possible causes for the increase in the number of viewers.
