LOS ANGELES – The animated film “Rio“, from the film director Carlos Saldanha, is preparing to contest the leadership of the cinema box office in the United States with terror “Scream 4“, whose collections could reach $ 40 million, according to estimates site “Boxoffice.com”.

The new work of Saldanha (“Ice Age”) narrates the adventures of Blu-blue macaw in Rio de Janeiro, where he meets Jade, the last female of her species, who runs the sights of the Marvelous City.

The film’s protagonists have voices of actors Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, George Lopez and Jamie Foxx in the original version in English.

Already the master of horror Wes Craven returned to the charge in the fourth teen horror movie “Scream,” saga that has revitalized his career in the late ’90s and with which it now intends to “break pattern” to prevent the death of the genre, explained filmmaker in an interview with Efe.

The film, which recounts with Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, have ‘new blood’ in the cast. Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere shines in the fourth issue of the saga, replete with references to the original tape, now facing the danger of the young cousin Sydney Prescott (Campbell).

The list of firsts from the weekend will have two independent productions, “The Conspirator” and Belgian “La Princesse de Montpensier.

“The Conspirator” is Robert Redford’s return to the director’s chair. Filmmaker tackles a story about the investigation of the plot that preceded the assassination of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, and Robin Wright in the cast, James McAvoy and Tom Wilkinson.

Now “La Princesse de Montpensier,” Bertrand Tavernier, is a historical drama involved in sixteenth-century France, amid the backdrop of clashes between Catholics and Protestants. Based on a novel by Madame de Lafayette, the work includes acting Mélanie Thierry, Lambert Wilson and Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet.
