The movie Shattered Glass released in 2003 (U.S.) for studio Lions Gate Films INS., Directed and written by Billy Ray, based on article by Buzz Bissinger, editor Jeffrey Ford, is at the core of cast: Hayden Christensen (Stephen Glass), Peter Sarsgaard (Charles Lane), Chloë Sevigny (Caitlin Avey) and Rosario Dawson (Andy Fox). Was spent US$ 6 million to produce the film based on actual fact.

The drama takes place in Washington where the young journalist Stephen Glass, is hired by a major magazine: The new republic, which is part of reading the board president of the United States. It turns out that the ambitious young man tends to ascend making it the most popular, charismatic and competent within the team, until his deception is discovered by a group of journalists from Forbes On Line. Glass created their stories and sources, forming a web of “information”, forging their elusive subjects that illustrate virtually all his work published in The New Republic.

The real person depicted in the movie told the Associated Press how he regretted having coined the materials retail displays and it has done psychiatric treatment to help you understand why attitudes in 1998, during which he worked in the magazine. And he admits: “It was very difficult and painful to watch. It was a ride through the worst part of my life, I feel more embarrassed. And by that I regret. Nevertheless, it is a good movie. ”

The plot unwound in 103 minutes with background music of Michael Dana, despite having received a nomination for a Golden Globe for best supporting actor and four nominations for the Independent Spirit Awards in the categories of best film, screenplay, photography and supporting actor is a weak movie (except reflection of journalistic ethics) that does not hold the audience’s attention.
