Disney makes a little aside their traditional animation to present its newest production for the Family: the Adventure Sorcerer’s Apprentice (IMDB), which now reaches the region’s six rooms.

The film tells the story of the sorcerer Master Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage). Living in Manhattan, he has a duty to protect the island from his arch-enemy Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) and realizes he will need help to work. Among several boys who find the streets, he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel) to be his apprentice.

The couple has a common life, but Balthazar sees enormous potential in him and begins to teach him the secrets of the science of magic. In the midst of intensive training, Dave will also work to win the girl of his dreams.

The direction is on account of Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure A) and Jerry Bruckheimer production is responsible for Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time trilogy and Pirates of the Caribbean. Filled with special effects, the film makes several references to the world of magic and even pays tribute to classic animation Fantasia (1940).
